  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 14.5 oz diced tomatoes w/basil & oregano
  • 1/2 cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 lb pasta of choice

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, saute the onions, garlic, olive oil, and butter for about 3 minutes or so.
  • Add the Italian sausage to your skillet, sautéing it with the garlic and onions, until the sausage is crumbled into large chunks.
  • Sprinkle meat mixture with salt, pepper, italian seasoning, and basil
  • Reduce heat and VERY SLOWLY, add in the vodka to your skillet. Increase heat back to medium-high and simmer to reduce vodka for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in chicken broth and tomatoes. Bring sauce back to a bubble and reduce heat to simmer.
  • Stir heavy cream into sauce and simmer on low heat while pasta is cooking
  • In a large pot of boiling, salted water, cook your pasta to al dente. Drain pasta.
  • Toss pasta into your meat sauce and toss to coat pasta evenly
  • In a 9x13 baking dish, evenly spread your pasta-meat sauce mixture in pan.
  • Top pasta with parmesan cheese and then finish with layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in 350* oven for approx 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly browned on top.
  • Remove from oven and garnish with fresh slivered basil leaves, if desired. Serve warm with a fresh green salad and warm crusty bread. Dinner is served....ENJOY!
