YUMMY DUMP CAKE is the best kept secret ever! 🙂 I only just heard about this scrumptiousness last week from my sister and decided to give it a try last night. Oh my goodness, this is a yummy treat! And so easy too! As the name says, you literally just “dump” or layer the simple ingredients into your baking pan, bake in the oven, and voila, dessert is ready! The fun part of this dump cake, too, is that you can change it up by trying a different fruit pie filling and/or cake mix flavor combination to completely make it a whole new dessert! Apple, cherry, blueberry, or peach pie fillings……yellow, spice, white, lemon, or chocolate cake mixes……the skies the limit! I can’t wait to try them all! 🙂 haha. YUMMY DUMP CAKE
Ingredients
- 2-3 cans Apple Pie Filling (can substitute peach, blueberry, cherry, etc instead)
- 1 box cake mix (yellow or spice)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (omit if using different fruit)
- 1 1/2 - 2 sticks butter, cut into thin pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350* and prepare 13x9 baking pan by spraying with PAM cooking spray
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly in bottom of prepared pan with a spoon. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of apples.
- Sprinkle the cake mix on top of fruit, using a fork to break up any clumps and spread evenly over fruit
- Top the mixture with the pats of butter, making sure to cover the entire surface evenly to prevent dry areas at the end. NOTE: you can opt to melt butter instead and drizzle over the top evenly.
- Place dump cake into preheated oven and bake for 45-60 minutes or until fruit is bubbly and cake is lightly browned.
- Serve warm, with scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top. ENJOY!
