GRAMMY’S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIPPERS are a yummy treat for young and old! Are they oatmeal cookies…..are they chocolate chip cookies??  YEP! 🙂 haha. They are the perfect combination of both! And with the addition of oatmeal, we can say they are healthy, too, right? haha. My hubby loves these cookies straight out of the oven when the chocolate chips are melty……mmm, yum!  The fun thing about this recipe is that it can be made into cookies OR you can spread the batter into a 9×13 pan and make bars instead!  Now, that’s my kind of cookie!  Check out GRAMMY’S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIPPERS below…..ENJOY! 🙂

GRAMMY'S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIPPERS

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup + 6Tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups quick oats, uncooked
  • 1-2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350*
  • In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugars til smooth
  • Mix in eggs and vanilla; beat well
  • Add in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt to batter and mix well
  • Add in oats, mix til combined. Then add in chocolate chips.
  • Drop batter by heaping tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets
  • Bake cookies 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, then remove to cooling rack. After cooled completely, store in tightly covered container. ENJOY!
  • NOTE: For bar cookies, spread batter in an ungreased 13x9 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes
  • FOR HIGH ALTITUDE: increase flour to 1 3/4 cups
