GRAMMY'S TOLLHOUSE COOKIE BARS

Servings: 48 bars

Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375* and grease a 15x10 inch jelly-roll pan (cookie sheet)
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, sugars, and vanilla. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Add eggs in, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually beat in the flour mixture to the batter until mixed well.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips/chunks and nuts (if desired).
  7. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  8. Bake at 375* for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool in pan
  9. When cooled, cut into bars and serve. ENJOY!
