GRAMMY’S THANKSGIVING JELLO!  When our kids were growing up, they LOVED anything Jello!!  So, I have several jello recipes that became traditions in our home for various holidays.  This one became known as our Thanksgiving Jello!  It is a black cherry (or cherry) jello filled with blueberry pie filling and crushed pineapple and then frosted with a cream cheese-n-sour cream frosting, finished with a sprinkling of chopped pecans.  It is almost a dessert…..almost! 🙂 haha. GRAMMY'S THANKSGIVING JELLO

Servings: 12 SERVINGS

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3oz boxes Black Cherry or Cherry Jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 15 oz crushed pineapple, undrained (comes in 20oz can - just estimate 15oz)
  • 1 can blueberry pie filling
FOR FROSTING
  • 8 oz cream cheese block
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Method
 

  1. In a 9x13 glass dish, mix jello packets with boiling water, stirring carefully until jello is dissolved.
  2. Add in undrained pineapple and blueberry pie filling to jello and stir with spatula until well-combined.
  3. Pur jello into refrigerator for a couple hours (or overnight) until firm and set.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and sugar with an electric beater, mixing until blended and smooth.
  5. Using a rubber spatula, frost the jello with the cream cheese frosting mixture, spreading carefully and evenly over top of jello. Sprinkle with nut!
  6. Chill in refrigerator until ready to serve! ENJOY!

  • 2 3oz boxes black cherry jello (or cherry)
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (15oz – I use most of a 20 pz can)
  • 1 can blueberry pie filling
  • 8oz cream cheese block
  • 8oz sour cream
  • 1/4c sugar
  • 1/2c chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS

Mix jello with boiling water in a 9×13 pan; once jello is dissolved, add in pineapple and blueberry pie filling; chill until set.  In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, and sugar until smooth and creamy.  Frost  jello with cream cheese mixture and sprinkle with nuts,  ENJOY!
