GRAMMY’S CINNAMON BISCUIT DONUTS!! Do you remember these from your childhood?  Ohhh, they were a HUGE favorite in our house when my kids were growing up!  So yummy and cinnamony, served warm on a Saturday morning with hot chocolate.  My kids were soooo excited when I made these!

You can use virtually any buttermilk biscuit in the refrigerated section of your grocery store for these.  Our favorite is the Pillsbury Grands but I’ve also used the smaller Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits in the blue tube, as well.  Either big or small, these super-easy cinnamon gems are sure to be a favorite in your house, too!  Check out my easy-peasy recipe for GRAMMY’S CINNAMON BISCUIT DONUTS below…..ENJOY!

GRAMMY'S CINNAMON BISCUIT DONUTS

Made with love by Grammy
Servings 8 donuts

Ingredients

  • 1 tube Pillsbury Grands Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tblsp ground cinnamon
  • vegetable oil for frying donuts

Instructions

  • In the bottom of a large skillet, add enough vegetable oil to fill pan about an inch deep. Set aside.
  • In a large, flat bowl mix together your sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Unwrap biscuits from tube and on a large cutting board, use a melon-baller or spoon to cut out a circle from the center of each biscuit.
  • Heat oil in the skillet on your stove top to medium-high heat. When oil is ready, you will see ripples in the bottom of the oil.
  • Carefully drop the donut rounds into the oil, frying four at a time. After about 2 minutes or when the donuts are lightly browned on the bottom, turn them over with a fork or tongs and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until browned on that side, too.
  • As soon as you remove donuts from the oil, drop each one into the cinnamon-sugar and evenly coat on all sides. Set aside on a separate serving plate.
  • Repeat the steps above for the remaining donuts and donut holes.
  • Serve donuts while still warm. ENJOY!!
