GRAMMY’S CLASSIC MEATLOAF!! Who loves meatloaf?? I DO! To me, meatloaf is pure comfort food and a nostalgic throwback to my childhood. It reminds me of days gone by, where the tradition of family dinner around the kitchen table were the norm. This meatloaf takes me back to that…a homey meatloaf with a tangy sauce that is out of this world yummy! Even my Hubby, who has never liked meatloaf LOVES this recipe! 🙂 haha. Believe me, that’s saying something! This recipe can be made ahead and frozen for a quick dinner to thaw and throw into the oven on those busy nights or can be shared when you are blessing a family with a yummy dinner in the event of the birth of a baby, etc. Check out GRAMMY’S CLASSIC MEATLOAF below…I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! GRAMMY'S CLASSIC MEATLOAF
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 3/4 c quick oats
- 3/4 c milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c onion, diced fine
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
TANGY TOPPING
- 2/3 c ketchup
- 4 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350* and lightly grease/spray a loaf pan to prepare.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, oats, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Wash hands first, then use hands to mix everything together well.
- Transfer meat mixture to prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard until smooth. Pour evenly over the meatloaf mixture in loaf pan.
- Place in preheated oven and cook for approx 1 hr or until meatloaf is done in the center.
- Remove from oven and let stand for about 5 minutes before serving. ENJOY!
