GRAMMY'S STRAWBERRY PRETZEL JELLO

Ingredients
  

FOR PRETZEL CRUST

  • 2 cups pretzel sticks, crushed roughly
  • 3 Tbsp white sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted

FOR CREAM FILLING

  • 8 oz cream cheese block
  • 8 oz Cool Whip tub, thawed
  • 1 cup white sugar

FOR JELLO TOPPING

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced -OR- frozen sliced
  • 6 oz strawberry jello box
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400*
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter until well coated. Spread in bottom of 9x13 baking dish.
  • Bake pretzel crust in preheated oven for about 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and thoroughly cool on counter top.
  • While pretzel crust is cooling, in a small mixing bowl combine the jello packet and boiling water, stirring until jello is dissolved. Cool in refrigerator in bowl for about 10 minutes.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and sugar, beating until smooth. Then, fold in the cool whip until all is well blended.
  • When pretzel crust is cooled, spread the cool whip layer on top of pretzel crust. Make sure to spread evenly along edges and into corners to create a seal for the pretzel crust.
  • Next, cover the cream layer with your strawberries and then carefully pour the jello over the strawberries, making sure all strawberries are covered.
  • Carefully place dish into refrigerator and chili til set. ENJOY! :)
