GRAMMY'S LAYERED CHRISTMAS JELLO

Ingredients
  

FOR JELLO LAYERS

  • 4 3oz boxes of jello (2 green, 1 yellow, 1 red)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

FOR WHITE LAYERS

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Lightly butter a 9x13 dish. Set aside
  • On stove top, bring milk to a light boil, stirring constantly to avoid burning milk. Remove from heat.
  • Carefully stir in sugar until dissolved in milk.
  • In a small bowl, mix the 1/2 cup cold water and unflavored gelatin until dissolved; Add this to the milk mixture while milk is still warm..
  • Add in sour cream and vanilla (I use electric beater but can use whisk) until well blended and smooth. NOTE: DO NOT REFRIGERATE, KEEP THIS MILK MIXTURE ON COUNTER TOP COVERED UNTIL USED COMPLETELY.
  • In a small bowl, mix up first box of jello (green) with hot water til dissolved, then add in cold water. Carefully pour into prepared 9x13 dish and put in refrigerator until set.
  • When jello layer is set, carefully pour 1 1/2 cups of the white milk mixture on top and spread carefully over the jello layer. Return dish to refrigerator until white layer is set.
  • While white layer is setting up in fridge, make your next box of jello (yellow) as directed above.
  • Once white milk is set, gently pour your prepared yellow jello evenly over the white layer. Return to refrigerator to set up.
  • Continuing layering with milk mixture, jello (red next), milk mixture, ending with green jello.....let each layer set up in the refrigerator before moving on to next layer.
  • Your masterpiece is complete! Beautiful! ENJOY! :)
