Many, many years ago, when my hubby and I were just married and I was a new cook, his cousin, Doris, shared this recipe with me and it became a favorite for us right away! I have tweaked it a bit over the years but the one thing that hasn’t changed is the bacon…haha. Check out this old-fashioned goodness called GRAMMY’S EASY BAKED BEANS below! Enjoy!
GRAMMY'S EASY BAKED BEANS
Ingredients
- 2 28 oz cans Bush's Original Baked Beans
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 6 slices bacon, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup ketchup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325* and grease a medium baking dish.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mix together beans, brown sugar, dry mustard, and ketchup. Pour into baking dish.
- Place bacon pieces on top of beans.
- Bake in 325 oven for 2 1/2 hours uncovered. (You may want to place baking dish on a sheet pan to catch possible drippings). ENJOY!
- NOTE: this recipe can be doubled to feed more, if necessary
